Gold Market Commentary For Monday Evening


Gold futures closed down $11.60 at $1,123.60 today. Prices closed nearer the session low today on profit taking pressure from recent good gains. No significant chart damage occurred today. Bulls still have the near term technical advantage. Prices are still in a four week old uptrend on the daily bar chart.

Silver futures closed down 13.7 cents at $17.245 an ounce today. Prices closed nearer the session low today after poking to a fresh six week high early on. Bulls still have the overall near term technical advantage. Silver prices are still in a four week old uptrend on the daily bar chart.

The U.S. dollar index closed down 5 points at 80.69 today. Prices closed nearer the session high today. Trading has turned choppy. The bulls still have the overall near term technical advantage. Prices are still in a three month old uptrend on the daily bar chart.
