Adam weighs in ...... Is Gold Indicating Trouble Ahead?

Is it time to go long gold in a big way? Our trading partner Adam Hewison, President of INO.com and Co-creator of MarketClub, has come out with his call on gold for the near term. Are you trading with him or against him?.....

As another trading week comes to a close, it is worth noting that gold is closing at a nine week high for a Friday. I believe that this is a significant event, and believe that gold has now put in a base to move higher later this year and next year.

It's a little ironic that hedge fund traders, like George Soros, recently divested themselves of their long gold positions, as it now appears that the market has put in a major base and wants to move higher.

Our long term monthly Trade Triangle for gold continues to be in a negative mode. However, this Trade Triangle [click here to get a free trial of Adam's Trade Triangle technology] is slowly beginning to flatten out and I would not be surprised to see it change to green in the not too distant future. In today's report, I will be covering gold and a gold stock that you may want to trade, as it flashed a major buy signal today.

I will also be covering some very interesting stocks that I think have potential on the upside after their recent correction from their highs, as well as my analysis of the major markets and what I am looking for in next week's market.

Have a great trading day and a super weekend,
Adam Hewison

Weekly Precious Metals Recap with Mike Seery GLD SLV

The precious metals fell out of bed this week especially gold which finished down for the 6th consecutive day trading far below its 100 day moving average all due to the fact that the U.S dollar hit another contract high today trading up nearly 70 points again today as investors are fleeing out of gold and taking that money and placing it in the U.S dollar and the S&P 500 which is hitting another record high again today.

Gold futures for the June contract settled last Friday at 1,436 finishing down about $70 for the week trading at 1,362 hitting a 2 year low with a possible retest of 1,321 which was hit on April 16th of this year. Investors see no reason to own gold at this point in time when you can buy the stock market which seems to go up every single day, however the real story is large hedge funds including George Soros which have been liquidating their gold positions in recent weeks and that is also putting pressure as investors are taking money out of the ETF gold market.

Get started trading precious metals today.....Here's your Free trading videos!

Silver futures for the July contract were down another $.38 at 22.36 an ounce trading below its 20 day moving average and is trading $6 below its 100 day moving average which tells you this trend is very strong to the downside and if gold continues to go down its going to be difficult for silver to rally. Silver looks bearish here in short term after settling last Friday at 23.65 finishing down about $1.00 for the week also hitting 2 ½ year lows. The next major support in silver which was also hit on April 16th of this year is at $21 and if that level is broken you could possibly see silver heading down to the 18/$19 level especially if gold continues to fall out of bed.

Copper futures were a different story finishing up 300 points today in the July contract after settling last week at 3.35 a pound down slightly for the week, however its following the S&P and the housing market more than silver and gold at this point as investors see no reason to own gold because it actually has no real commercial usage but copper is used in housing and many other products with improving economies around the world copper demand should increase but at this point in time I would avoid copper because it does not have a trend while silver and gold have a trend to the downside so if you’re looking to get short this market I recommend selling silver and gold in place a stop above the 10 day high therefore minimizing your risk in case the trend does change.

Trend: Lower  – Chart structure solid in gold and silver

Soros Signals Gold Bubble as Goldman Predicts Record

George Soros is helping drive up gold prices by doubling his bet in a market even he considers a “bubble” as Goldman Sachs Group Inc., Barclays Capital and HSBC Holdings Plc predict more gains before it bursts.

Soros Fund Management LLC, which manages about $25 billion, increased its investment in SPDR Gold Trust, the world’s largest exchange-traded fund for the metal, by 152 percent in the fourth quarter, a Feb. 16 Securities and Exchange Commission filing shows. While prices have fallen 9.2 percent since reaching a record on Dec. 3, 15 of 22 analysts in a Bloomberg survey say gold will reach a new high, with the median forecast predicting a 17 percent advance to as much as $1,300 an ounce this year.

“When interest rates are low we have conditions for asset bubbles to develop, and they are developing at the moment,” Soros said at the World Economic Forum’s annual meeting in Davos, Switzerland, in January. “The ultimate asset bubble is gold,” he said.

In a Jan. 28 Bloomberg Television interview, the 79-year- old billionaire recalled that former Federal Reserve Chairman Alan Greenspan warned of “irrational exuberance” in financial markets three years before the technology bubble burst in 2000. The Standard & Poor’s 500 Index rose 89 percent in the period. Buying at the start of a bubble is “rational,” Soros said.

Gold’s fourfold rally since the end of 2000 has also attracted money managers John Paulson, Paul Tudor Jones and David Einhorn. Paulson’s Credit Opportunities Fund soared almost sixfold in 2007 by betting that subprime mortgages would plummet. Einhorn said in October that his Greenlight Capital Inc. bought gold to bet against the dollar.....Read the entire article.

George Soros: 'The Ultimate Asset Bubble Is Gold'

George Soros didn't mince his words when giving his opinion on the yellow metal in Davos to Maria Bartiromo.....

Mr Soros, arguably the most famous hedge fund manager in history, warned that with interest rates low around the world, policymakers were risking generating new bubbles which could cause crashes in the future. In comments delivered on the fringe of the World Economic Forum, Mr Soros said: "When interest rates are low we have conditions for asset bubbles to develop, and they are developing at the moment. The ultimate asset bubble is gold."

If ultra low rates are inflating gold, then what will happen as we enter a tightening cycle and interest rates rise?
