Trading for the week of March 6th through March 10th ended with the market indexes closing higher on Friday following the latest jobs report, which showed that 235,000 jobs were created in February while January number was revised to show 238,000, pushing the unemployment rate to 4.7%. Hourly pay increased 2.8% from February 2016 to February 2017, up from 2.6% in the prior month.
Time to get the a heads up from our trading partner Michael Seery. We've asked him to give our readers a recap of the this weeks futures markets and give us some insight on where he sees these markets headed. Mike has been a senior analyst for close to 15 years and has extensive knowledge of all of the commodity and option markets.
Crude oil futures in the April contract are currently trading at 49.50 a barrel after settling last Friday in New York at 53.33 down nearly $4 for the trading week near a 14 week low as the true breakout was below 51.86. However, I am not involved in this market as I'm waiting for some type of price rally to enter into a short position, therefore, lowering the monetary risk. If you are short this market I would place my stop loss above the 10 day high which stands at 54.44 as the chart structure is very poor because prices absolutely collapsed over the last several days having its worst one day performance in over 11 months. Prices are now trading below their 20 and 100 day moving average telling you that the short term trend is lower as massive supplies continue to put a lid on this market coupled with the fact of a strong U.S dollar as the commodities, in general, look weak across the board, but wait for some type of price rally before entering, but I'm certainly not recommending any type of bullish position as I think lower prices are ahead.

Gold futures in the April contract settled last Friday in New York at 1,226 an ounce while currently trading at 1,204 continuing its bearish momentum right near a 6 week low as the precious metals continue to move lower on a daily basis due to a strong U.S dollar. At the current time I have no trade recommendations in the precious metal sector as it looks to me that gold might even possibly retest the contract low around 1,150, but avoid this market at present & look at other trades that are beginning to trend with a better risk/reward scenario. Gold prices are now trading under their 20 and 100 day moving average telling you that the short term trend is lower as crude oil prices have also broken out of a tight consolidation which is another negative towards all commodity prices in my opinion. The U.S stock market is higher across the board today as the monthly unemployment number came in as the United States added around 235,000 new jobs as all the interest lies in the S&P 500 & not in gold at the current time.
Trend: Lower
Chart Structure: Poor
Silver futures in the May contract settled last Friday in New York at 17.74 an ounce while currently trading at 17.02 down over $0.70 for the trading week as prices have hit a 6 week low trading lower for the 4th straight day. I was recommending a bullish position in silver for around two months getting stopped out in last week's trade which I considered very disappointing. However, prices have dropped much further as that is why you must have an exit strategy because you don't know how high or low prices can go as the precious metals, in general, have fallen out of bed. Silver prices are now trading under their 20 & 100 day moving average telling you the short term trend is lower as the contract low is around the $16 mark which was hit in December 2016 and it looks to me that prices might head down to that level, however, avoid this market at present as the chart structure is terrible therefore the monetary risk is too high. At present, I do not have any trade recommendations in the precious metals as my main focus is in the grain market to the downside as the commodities look weak in my opinion due to a strong U.S dollar.
Trend: Lower
Chart Structure: Poor
Sugar futures in the May contract settled last Friday in New York at 19.52 a pound while currently trading at 18.13 looking to retest the contract low which was hit in December 2016 and if that is broken you could head all the way down to the February 2016 low around 12.50 as this market remains very bearish. At present I am not involved as the chart structure did not meet my criteria when the original breakout occurred, however I do think lower prices are ahead and if you do have a short position place your stop loss above the 10 day high which now stands at 19.80 and will not improve for another 5 trading sessions, so you will have to accept the monetary risk. The commodity markets, in general, look very weak as the U.S dollar despite selling off this Friday afternoon continues to hamper commodity prices and especially the agricultural markets as I'm certainly not recommending any type of bullish position in sugar as the momentum is getting stronger on a daily basis. Sugar prices are trading below their 20 and 100 day moving average is telling you that the short term trend is lower and expect to see stop some stops below that level as the large funds will add to their short positions in my opinion.
Trend: Lower
Chart Structure: Poor
Wheat futures in the May contract settled last Friday in Chicago at 4.53 a bushel while currently trading at 4.45 down about 8 cents for the trading week reacting pretty neutral to yesterday's USDA crop report lowering carryover levels by about 10 million bushels as the grain market still looks weak in my opinion. At present, I'm not involved in wheat as I am short oats, corn, and soybeans as I do think the whole complex is headed lower. However, wheat prices are still near a 4 week low with poor chart structure, so I probably will not be involved in this market for some time. The next major level of support is 4.38, and if that is broken, I think we will join the rest of the grains to the downside as we are now trading under the 20 and 100 day moving average telling you that short-term trend is lower. The U.S dollar is still hovering right near a 7 week high around the 102 level as that has finally put some pressure on many of the commodity sectors which have been rallying until the last week or so, but wheat has remained choppy for months so avoid this market & look at other trades with better potential.
Trend: Mixed - Lower

Weekly Gold and Silver Markets Recap with Mike Seery
The institutional traders are back from vacation and trading volume is picking up. So who better to have than our trading partner Mike Seery back to give our readers a recap of this weeks trading and help us put together a plan for the upcoming week.
Gold futures in the December contract settled last Friday in New York at 1,121 an ounce while currently trading at 1,106 down about $15 this week trading below its 20 and 100 day moving average near a 3 week low as I’m currently sitting on the sidelines as this market remains choppy with poor chart structure.
I still see no reason to own gold currently as the risk/reward is not your favor so look at other markets that are starting to trend such as the silver market which I am currently recommending a short position because the chart structure is outstanding. Gold prices had a significant rally in the month of August bottoming out around 1,080 then rallying to 1,170 which was impressive in my opinion due to short covering and a flight to quality as the stock market has experienced volatility in recent weeks sending money out of stocks and into gold as a safe haven but things have settled down putting short term pressure on gold.
As I’ve talked about in many previous blogs I am a trend follower and I do not like to trade choppy markets because they are extremely difficult in my opinion so avoid this market at the current time and focus on silver.

Chart Structure: Poor

Silver futures in the December contract are trading lower by about $.30 this Friday afternoon in New York currently trading at 14.33 an ounce as I’ve been recommending a short position from around 14.70 and if you took that trade place your stop loss above the 10 day high which currently stands at 14.95 as you’re going to have to be patient as that stop loss will not be lower for quite some time.
The next major level of support is at the contract low around the $14 mark and I do think that’s a possibility that could be retested in next week’s trade as the chart structure is still very solid at the current time. Silver prices settled last Friday at 14.55 while currently at 14.33 down over $.20 for the trading week as prices have been consolidating the recent downdraft in prices over the last three weeks, but the long term and short term trend still remain bearish in my opinion, so continue to play this to the downside while taking advantage of any price rally while maintaining the proper risk management strategy.
Silver futures are trading below their 20 and 100 day moving average closing at 3 week low in today’s trade as the commodity markets still looks bearish in my opinion.

Weekly Gold Futures Summary with Mike Seery
Gold futures in the December contract settled last Friday in New York at 1,134 an ounce while currently trading at 1,122 down about $12 this week trading below its 20 and 100 day moving average near a 2 week low as I’m currently sitting on the sidelines as this market remains choppy with poor chart structure.
The monthly unemployment report number was released this morning in the United States adding 173,000 new jobs which was below consensus having very little impact on gold prices today as I still see no reason to own gold currently as the risk/reward is not your favor so look at other markets that are starting to trend.

When Do You Add To Your Winning Trade?
This has always been a very interesting question because it can create a situation of going from rags to riches or from riches to rags in a very short amount of time. Many times I see traders abuse pyramiding or adding to positions with utter lack of any type of money management system in place and letting it ride which usually ends up in a complete wipeout of capital and sometimes even worse.
Commodity prices can move very quickly with large gains or loses like we experienced in the 2008 crash of stock and commodity prices, so you always have to use stops and not fall in love or marry a position. In my opinion the answer to this question is add only once to the trade if that position has made you at least 2%-3% of your account balance while still having stop losses on all positions that equal 2% loss at a maximum risk.
Remember your stop loses will be different on both positions because of the fact that you entered those trades at a different date and price.

Weekly Gold and Silver Market Recap with Mike Seery for Week Ending Friday February 27th
It's time for our trading partner Mike Seery to give us his weekly call on commodities [including where to place your stops] and especially coffee and sugar. Mike has been Senior Analyst for close to 15 years and has extensive knowledge of all of the commodity and option markets.
Gold futures in the April contract are currently trading at 1,212 up around $3 an ounce while settling last Friday at 1,205 finishing up $7 in a relatively quiet trading week. Gold futures are trading below their 20 and 100 day moving average as I’ve talked about in many previous blogs I do think gold is now being used as a currency due to the fact that the Euro currency and many foreign currencies are absolutely falling out of bed as interest rates in many countries have gone negative so who wants to place money into a bank and lose money as investors are looking at gold which has no dividend but still it’s better than a negative return.
Volatility in many of the commodity markets is very high at the current time especially the precious metals and I expect that to continue despite the fact that the U.S dollar hit an 11 year high continuing its secular bull market in my opinion as I do think 100 is on its way in the next several months as the United States economy is doing much better than any economy worldwide. Gold futures have rallied from a contract low of 1,130 all the way up to about 1,310 in the last several months as I’m sitting on the sidelines waiting for better chart structure to develop as money is moving back into the S&P 500 sending prices to all time highs as I don’t see any reason to own gold despite all of the worldwide problems.
Trend: Lower
Chart Structure: Solid

Silver futures in the May contract are up $.5 this Friday afternoon in New York currently trading at 16.66 an ounce settling last Friday at 16.32 finishing up about 40 cents for the trading week with extreme volatility so make sure that you use the proper amount of contracts risking only 2% of your account balance as I like to trade the mini contract which is $10 a cent versus $50 a cent on the large contract as high volatility has also entered the S&P 500 and the currency markets in recent weeks.
As I talked about in previous blogs I believe silver is now being used as a currency due to the fact that interest rates around the world are so low that investors are looking at silver as a currency replacing traditional paper currencies as nobody wants to own anything in Europe. Many of the commodity markets continue to head lower however silver remains choppy at the current time as I am still recommending investors to sit on the sidelines and wait for a trend to develop.

Weekly Gold and Silver Markets Recap with Mike Seery
It's time for our weekly commodity futures recap with our trading partner Mike Seery. He has been Senior Analyst for close to 15 years and has extensive knowledge of all of the commodity and option markets. And frequently appears on multiple business networks including Bloomberg news, Fox Business, CNBC Worldwide, CNN Business, and Bloomberg TV. He is also a guest on First Business, which is a national and internationally syndicated business show.Gold futures in the April contract are up $13 this afternoon in New York currently trading at $1,233 an ounce after settling last Friday around $1,235 basically unchanged for the trading week still right near 4 week lows is I’m recommending investors to sit on the sidelines in this market as the trend is currently mixed. Gold futures are trading below their 20 but just barely above their 100 day moving average as the S&P 500 had a terrific week as the Dow Jones cracked 18,000 to the upside as that’s where the interest lies currently as the next major level of support is between $1,180 – $1,220 but sit on the sidelines as the chart structure is absolutely terrible at the current time.
If you have followed any of my previous blogs I constantly stress the fact to avoid markets that are choppy as I think the success rate is very low unless you are some type of day trader but I hold positions overnight so look for another market that is beginning to trend and keep an eye on gold as I don’t think we will be trading this market for quite some time. The U.S dollar is still right near 11 year high and that’s always pessimistic commodities in general especially the precious metals but at the current time I just don’t have an opinion on this market as I think we will chop around in the short term.
Trend: Mixed

Silver futures in the March contract are up $.55 this afternoon still trading below their 20 but above their 100 day moving average telling you this trend is mixed as I’m also advising traders to sit on the sidelines in this market as we were stopped out at the 2 week low around 16.71 last Friday as this market remains extremely volatile but prices continue to move sideways. Silver prices settled last Friday at 16.70 currently trading at 17.35 up about $.65 an impressive week in my opinion as many of the commodity markets are sharply higher today due to the fact that crude oil is up another $2 which is beneficial and supportive to many commodity prices thinking that the giant bear markets might be finished.
As a trader I’m always looking for a breakout but at the current time silver looks like it’s in a bottoming pattern in my opinion with no breakout occurring as the real level that you want to look at is 18.50 if prices break above that level I would be recommending a bullish position but at the current time the chart structure is poor so look elsewhere. The one bullish fundamental reason for silver to move higher is the fact that it’s used in electronic components and that business is going to be here for a long time to come so theirs actual demand for silver unlike gold which is just primary used in jewelry as the electronic market should get larger and grow exponentially over the next 10/20 years in my opinion.

And frequently appears on multiple business networks including Bloomberg news, Fox Business, CNBC Worldwide, CNN Business, and Bloomberg TV. He is also a guest on First Business, which is a national and internationally syndicated business show.
Gold futures in the April contract are currently trading at 1,277 up around $21 an ounce with extreme volatility after selling off more than $30 in Thursday’s trade while settling last Friday at 1,293 going out this Friday afternoon around 1,276 finishing down $17 in a wild trading week. Gold futures topped out slightly above $1,300 as profit taking ensued as prices are still trading above their 20 and 100 day moving average and I’m still recommending a bullish position and if you took that original trade place your stop loss below the 10 day low which now yesterday’s low at 1,252 risking around $24 from today’s price levels or $2,400 risk per contract plus slippage and commission.
As I’ve talked about in many previous blogs I do think gold is now being used as a currency due to the fact that the Euro currency and many foreign currencies are absolutely falling out of bed as interest rates in many countries have gone negative so who wants to place money into a bank and lose money as investors now prefer gold which has no dividend but still it’s better than a negative return. Gold futures have rallied from a contract low of 1,130 all the way up to about 1,310 in the last several months as money is finally starting to come out of the S&P 500 sending money flows back into the precious metals also sending high volatility which I think is here to stay especially with all of the worldwide problems

Silver futures in the March contract are up $.50 this Friday afternoon in New York currently trading at 17.30 an ounce settling last Friday at 18.30 finishing down about $1.00 for the trading week with extreme volatility as Thursday’s trade pushed silver lower by over a $1.25 as I’ve been recommending a bullish position in this market when prices broke above the 17 level and if you took that trade continue to place your stop loss below yesterday’s low around 16.71 still risking around $.60 from today’s price levels.
Silver volatility is extremely high at the current time so make sure that you use the proper amount of contracts risking only 2% of your account balance as I like to trade the mini contract which is $10 a cent versus $50 a cent on the large contract as high volatility has also entered the S&P 500 and the currency markets in recent weeks.
The stop loss will remain at that level for the next 8 trading sessions so you’re going to have to be patient if you are long this market. As I talked about in previous blogs I believe silver is now being used as a currency due to the fact that interest rates around the world are so low that investors are looking at silver and gold as a currency replacing traditional paper currencies as nobody wants to own anything in Europe.
Many of the commodity markets continue to head lower however silver and gold are the only 2 commodities that I am bullish but the problem here is if the rest of the markets continue to head lower silver and gold gains could be limited so just place the proper stop loss and if we are stopped out look at another market that is starting to begin another trend.

Mike Seerys Trading 101...."When Do You Enter A Trade"
What are your rules to initiate a trade on the long or short side of the commodity market? I have been asked this question many times throughout my career and my opinion is simply to buy on a 20-25 day high breakout in price on a closing basis only or sell on a 20-25 day low breakout to the downside also on a closing basis. Many times the price will break the 25 day high and sell off later in the day only to have your trade be negative very quickly.
I would rather buy the commodity at a higher price on the close because that gives me more confidence that the market has truly broken out. However there are more ways to skin a cat and this is not the only answer because some other trading systems might rely on different breakout rules that have also been reliable.
Remember always keeping a 1%-2% risk loss on any given trade therefore minimizing risks because the entry system I use always goes with the trend because I have learned over the course of time the trend is truly your friend in the long run. I also look for tight chart structure meaning a tight trading range over a period of time with relatively low volatility. I try to stay away from a crazy market that hit a 25 day high in 2 trading sessions versus the 25 high that actually took 25 days to create.

Weekly Gold and Silver Market Recap with Mike Seery for Week Ending January 23rd
Our trading partner Mike Seery is back with his weekly futures market recap. As always he includes where he is placing stops to lock in profits we have all been enjoying if you have been following Mike this year.
Gold futures in the February contract are trading above their 20 and 100 day moving average settling last Friday in New York at 1,277 while currently trading at 1,288 an ounce down about $12 this afternoon as I have been recommending a bullish position when prices cracked 1,245 and if you took that trade place your stop at the 10 day low which in Monday’s trade will be 1,217 still risking about $70 or $7,000 per contract plus slippage and commission, however the chart structure will start to improve on a daily basis starting next week.
Gold prices hit a 5 month high this week and now is being considered as a currency and not a commodity as nobody wants to own any of the foreign currencies especially the Euro currency which was down another 100 points today sending the U.S dollar to an 11 year high as countries like Yemen are collapsing right in front of our eyes and many other countries are getting crushed by the low crude oil prices so investors are seeking a safe haven in gold despite today’s negative tape.

Silver futures in the March contract are slightly lower this Friday afternoon in New York after settling last week at 17.75 while currently trading at 18.30 up around $.50 for the trading week continuing its bullish trend as prices are trading above its 20 & 100 day moving average hitting a 4 month high as investors are fleeing out of the foreign currencies and putting money back into the precious metals at the current time.
I’ve been recommending a bullish position in silver for several weeks when prices broke above 17.00 an ounce and if you took that trade make sure you place your stop loss below the 10 day low which currently stands at 16.43 currently risking around $2 or $10,000 per contract plus slippage and commission as silver is very large contract controlling 5,000 ounces, however that stop loss will be raised on a daily basis as the chart structure will improve dramatically come next week.
Silver is now considered as a currency in my opinion and not a commodity as nobody wants to own any currencies except for the U.S dollar sending money flows back into the precious metals as I think silver prices could test $20 here in the short term as I’m very pessimistic many of the commodity sectors except for silver and gold at the current time as I think prices continue to climb despite what the U.S dollar does as short term demand has certainly come back into this market in my opinion.

Weekly Gold and Silver Futures Recap with Mike Seery
Our trading partner Mike Seery is out with his calls for this week and he includes some of reliable rules to protect our profits.
Gold futures in the February contract are slightly lower this Friday afternoon in New York after settling last Friday at 1,216 currently trading at 1,260 as I’m currently recommending a long futures position while placing your stop loss below the 10 day low which is around 1,209 risking around $50 or $1,650 on a mini contract plus slippage and commission. Gold futures are trading above their 20 and 100 day moving average hitting a 5 month high as the chart structure will also start to improve on a daily basis starting next week as the market has caught fire recently due to worldwide problems as money is pouring back into the precious metals and out of the S&P 500 in the beginning of 2015.
Yesterday the Swiss government announced they will let the Swiss Franc float rocketing that currency up while sending shock waves through the bond and currency markets and it certainly looks to me that problems are here to stay here for a while as Europe is a mess and this could push gold up to the next resistance level of 1,300 – 1,320 so take advantage of any price dip while maintaining the proper stop loss risking 2% of your account balance on any given trade as gold has finally turned into a short-term bull market once again.

Silver futures are trading above their 20 day but right at their 100 day moving average settling last Friday at 16.12 while currently trading at 17.05 an ounce as I’m recommending a bullish position in silver while placing your stop below the 10 day low which is at 16.11 risking around $.90 or $4,500 per contract plus slippage and commission as the chart structure will also improve on a daily basis starting next week. The next major level of resistance is between 17.35 – 17.50 and if that level is broken I would have to think that silver prices have a chance to reach $20 here in the short term as once again money is flowing into the precious metals and out of the stock market for the 1st time in several years as investors are thinking that silver may have been overdone to the downside.
Many of the commodity markets continue to head lower as there is weak demand throughout many sectors due to the fact that the U.S dollar is at a 9 year high while silver & gold prices have also been in bearish trends until recently, however with what’s going on in France and Isis running havoc throughout the Mideast people are finally looking at the precious metals as a safe haven once again so the rest of the commodity markets can go lower with gold and silver still moving higher but play by the rules as the chart structure meets criteria in my opinion.

Weekly Gold Market Summary with Mike Seery
Gold futures in the February contract witnessed another extremely volatile trading session with another $20 trading range currently trading up $4 at 1,188 after trading as low as 1,167 earlier in the session as the U.S dollar hit another multiyear high pressuring many the commodity prices, however bottom feeders appeared thinking that gold was overdone to the downside.
Gold futures are trading below their 20 and 100 day moving average as I am currently sitting on the sidelines in this market waiting for better chart structure to develop as the market is just too volatile in my opinion, however if you are bearish this market I would sell at today’s price while placing my stop above the 10 day high which currently stands at 1,210 risking around $23 or $2,300 per contract plus slippage and commission as the chart structure is relatively solid at the current time.

Gold futures remain in a long term downtrend as investors are still putting money into the S&P 500 and out of the precious metals especially with a strong U.S dollar which looks to head higher in my opinion and with worldwide problems cooling down especially with Russia there’s really no reason to own gold at the current time.
Gold futures traded over the last 2 months in a price range between $1,140-$1,240 and now around mid-range so I’m waiting for a trend to develop as traders are waiting next Friday’s monthly unemployment report which should send even more volatility into this market so make sure if you are in the futures market that you use the proper amount contracts risking 2% of your account balance on any given trade as this market is high risk.

Mike Seerys Weekly Gold Market Recap for Week Ending Friday December 19th
Gold futures in the February contract are trading below their 20 and 100 day moving average settling last Friday in New York at 1,222 currently trading at 1,196 continuing its long term bearish trend as I’m currently sitting on the sidelines in this market as volatility is too high and the price remains extremely choppy as we head into the new year.
Gold prices rallied as high as 1,240 last week before settling back despite the fact that the stock market had a wild ride but the interest still is in the S&P 500 which looks like it’s going to close right near another record high today. The problem with the gold market is the ETF market in gold might be sold come year end for tax purposes and when that happens the ETF than has to sell the futures contract so I still think lower prices are ahead but this market is difficult to trade at the current time so move on and find a market that is trending strong in one direction.

The U.S dollar hit another multiyear high which is generally pessimistic commodity prices and especially precious metals prices, however with turmoil in Russia gold prices have been extremely volatile with many $30/$40 price ranges on any given day so if you do trade this market make sure you place the proper amount contracts limiting risk to 2% of your account balance as I have to admit it’s fun to watch but I remain on the sidelines until a true breakout occurs.
Rumors of Russia having to sell some of their gold reserves sent gold prices down nearly down $30 in Wednesday’s trade however that rumor has not been verified at the current time but with the problems in Russia it would not surprise me about anything.

Will the Bearish Trend in Gold Continue?
Our trading partner Mike Seery weighs in on gold.....how low can gold go?
Gold futures in the December contract are plummeting this Friday afternoon in New York down over $20 breaking $1,200 an ounce currently trading at 1,194 with the next major level of support which was hit on New Year’s Eve of 2013 at 1,184 and I think that level will be broken as I’ve been recommending a short position gold when prices hit a 4 week low many weeks back at 1,287 and if you took the original recommendation place your stop above the 2 week high which currently stands at 1,237 as the bearish trend is getting stronger to the downside on a weekly basis in my opinion.
The main reason for the sell off today was the fact that the unemployment came out this morning stating that the economy added 250,000 new jobs with an unemployment rate of 5.9% sending the U.S dollar up 100 points as the Euro currency is down 150 points which is a very bearish fundamental indicator to the precious metals and the commodities as a whole as gold prices are still trading far below their 20 & 100 day moving average so continue to play this to the downside and take advantage of any rallies while placing the proper stop loss as lower prices are ahead.
The United States unemployment rate is at 5.9% which is the lowest since July 2008 which basically means that the interest rates almost have to be raised as they are way too low for an economy that is back on its feet as there is no reason to own gold or any of the precious metals at the current time as platinum is also in a complete free for all.

Weekly Gold and Silver Futures with Mike Seery for September 27th
Gold futures in the December contract are down $8 this Friday afternoon in New York currently trading at 1,214 hitting fresh nine month lows while still trading far below their 20 and 100 day moving average telling me that the trend is to the downside as the U.S dollar hit 2 year highs against many of the foreign currencies pressuring the commodity markets and especially the precious metals this week.

The chart structure in gold has improved dramatically and if you took my original recommendation and sold the breakout at 1,278 make sure you place your stop 10 day high which currently stands at 1,243 an ounce and that will improve in the next several days as the next major level of support is 1,180 & if that price level is broken prices could slide rather dramatically.
Gold prices settled last Friday at 1,216 finishing slightly lower for the trading week as volatility has certainly increased as prices were up $20 a couple of days back on the news of the coalition & the United States bombing ISIS but then prices came right back down as I still think lower prices are ahead as there’s no reason to own gold right now especially with a very strong U.S dollar so continue to play this to the downside making sure you place your stop above the 2 week high.
TREND: LOWER
CHART STRUCTURE: IMPROVING
Silver futures are trading far below their 20 and 100 day moving average settling last Friday at 17.84 going out this Friday in New York around 17.55 finishing down about $.30 hitting a 4 1/2 year low as the U.S dollar continues to pressure silver and the rest of the precious metal complex.
If you took my original recommendation several months back when prices broke 20.44 which was the 4 week low continue to place your stop above the 10 day high which currently stands at 18.85 and that will start to improve late next week as the chart structure will tighten up, but I still believe prices look vulnerable even at these multi year lows.
The trend is your friend in the commodity markets and the trend in the U.S dollar is clearly higher and that’s pessimistic all commodity prices, but if you have missed this trend sit on the sidelines as you have missed the boat as you do not want to chase markets that is why I like to find the trend as early as possible as my rule states a 4 week high or a 4 week low has to occur before entering.

Weekly Silver Market Recap with Mike Seery
Silver futures in the September contract rallied $.35 cents this week as tensions between Israel and Hamas have sent prices to 4 month highs at 21.48 with the next major resistance at $22 as I’ve been recommending a long position when prices hit a 4 week high breaking above 20.02 about 3 weeks ago so continue to place a stop below the 10 day low as the chart structure is outstanding as that level currently stands at 20.82 risking around $.70 or $3,500 per contract at these price levels.
Silver has been going higher in recent weeks as this commodity has solid demand due to electronics and many other products that currently use silver and if you’ve been following any of my previous blogs for the last several months I thought prices were extremely cheap especially compared to the rest of the commodity markets so continue to be long while placing your stop at the 2 week low as prices are trading above their 20 and 100 day moving average telling you that the trend remains higher.

Weekly Gold and Silver Market Recap - Stops and Trading Numbers
We've asked our trading partner Michael Seery to give our readers a weekly recap of the gold and silver futures market. He has been Senior Analyst for close to 15 years and has extensive knowledge of all of the commodity and option markets......
Gold futures in the June contract settled last Friday at 1,309 while going out today around 1,290 down by about $20 for the trading week as the Ukrainian situation has stalled sending gold prices back down into the recent trading range. Gold futures are trading below their 20 but right at their 100 day moving average as prices have been consolidating in the last 5 weeks trading in a $30 range as I’ve been sitting on the sidelines waiting for a better chart pattern to develop but if you are looking to get into this market on the long side I would buy at today’s prices placing my stop at the 10 day low of 1,365 risking around $2,500 per contract and if you’re looking to get short this market I would sell at today’s price while putting my stop loss at 1,310 risking around $2,000 as the chart structure is relatively tight at the current time. Gold prices rallied from 1,180 all the way up near $1,400 an ounce 2 months ago so this is basically the 50% retracement and I think you will see a consolidation for quite some time so keep a close eye on this chart as it appears to me that a breakout is looming.

Is it Time to Admit That Gold Peaked in 2011?
Silver futures in New York continued their bearish trend this week settling last Friday at 19.55 finishing lower by about $.45 for the trading week as I still think there’s a possibility that a spike bottom occurred in last Fridays trade as $19 has been very difficult to break on the downside. Silver futures have come all the way from slightly above $22 in late February all the way down to today’s level and from $35 in 2013 so this is been a bear market for well over 1 year as there seems to be a lack of interest, however eventually silver will turn around and join the rest of commodities higher but at this point there’s just very little interest. Silver futures are trading below their 20 and 100 day moving average telling you that the trend is lower and as I’ve talked about many times before if you have deep pockets and you’re a longer-term investor I think prices down at these levels are relatively cheap and if prices went lower I would continue to dollar cost average as there is real demand for silver.

There are many different theories about how long does a meaningful consolidation have to last before you enter a trade on the breakout to the up or downside? In my opinion I always want to see a consolidation that lasts at least 8 or more weeks before I would consider entering. The reason that I want a longer consolidation is to try and avoid a bunch of false breakouts such as a 10 or 15 day consolidations which happen all the time, so I am trying to put the odds in my favor by trading the breakout of at least 8 weeks or more and the longer such as a 11 or 13 week consolidation the better. At this present time cocoa is in a major consolidation.

Weekly Gold and Silver Market Recap - Stops and Trading Numbers
Today our trading partner Michael Seery gives our readers a weekly recap of the gold and silver futures market. He has been a senior analyst for close to 15 years and has extensive knowledge of all of the commodity and option markets.....
Fed Proof Your Portfolio
Gold prices had a volatile trading week basically finishing unchanged to settle around 1,298 in the June contract after having a tremendous reversal selling off down to 1,272 when the monthly unemployment number was released adding 280,000 jobs which is bullish the economy and bearish gold but then turned on a dime with the Ukrainian problems escalating sending gold finishing up $14 this Friday right near session highs as prices have been consolidating in recent weeks. I’ve been sitting on the sidelines in the gold market for quite some time as this market remains choppy and it might be bottoming at the current price levels as gold rallied $200 to start the year but now has given back over $100 so were at about the 50% retracement so if your bullish gold I would buy a futures contract at today’s price while placing my stop at the 10 day low which is also the 10 week low of 1,268 an ounce risking around $3,000 per contract. I’ve lived through many of these political escalations including one last August with Syria and they always seem to fizzle away so we will see if today’s rally will do the same but sit on the sidelines and see what develops. The one thing gold does have going for it is trading above its 20 and 100 day moving average which is telling you that the trend might be turning higher as prices could be bottoming out.

Why Are So Many Boomers Working Longer?
Silver futures are trading below their 20 and 100 day moving average as volatility has come back into this market in the last week as prices reversed sharply off of yesterday’s contract lows of 18.66 to go out this Friday afternoon at 19.47 an ounce and if you been reading any of my previous blogs for months I’ve been talking about the possibility of silver bottoming at the $19 level and if you have deep pockets and you’re a longer-term investor I’m recommending that you buy silver as I think prices are cheap. I am bullish silver not because of the Ukrainian problems but because of the fact that the commodity markets are in a bullish trend and silver will catch up eventually as this is a highly inflationary commodity with a lot of demand as silver is used in smart phones unlike gold which really has no purpose except for a flight to quality and jewelry. Prices reversed today because of the Ukrainian situation seems to be escalating and it sent prices sharply higher but the true breakout in this market is at 20.40 that’s where I really would be recommending to get long and if you are in a futures contract already I would be adding to my position if prices break that level as a spike bottom may have occurred in yesterday’s price action.

Weekly Gold Futures Recap With Mike Seery
We’ve asked our trading partner Michael Seery to give our readers a weekly recap of the gold futures market. He has been Senior Analyst for close to 15 years and has extensive knowledge of all of the commodity and option markets.
Gold futures are trading above their 20 and 100 day moving average basically settling unchanged for the trading week going out this Friday afternoon in New York down about $8 at 1,323 after prices hit 1,345 in Wednesday’s trade as the trend still continues to the upside. I think this is just a possible pause as prices have had a heckuva rally in the last 2 months and I have been recommending a long position in gold for quite some time while placing my stop below the 10 day low which currently stands around 1,315 which is only $8 away so that stop is very tight with a high probability of getting clipped at that price on Monday, however continue to focus on gold and silver to the upside and if you’re lucky enough to get some panic selling I would still be looking at buying as 2013 created the low in gold prices in my opinion.
Trend: Higher
Chart Structure: Excellent

Weekly Gold Futures Recap for Friday February 21st
It's time to check in with our trading partner Mike Seery for his take on where gold ended the week.
Gold futures in the April contract rallied about $25 this week to close right near session highs this Friday afternoon in New York up $10 an ounce at 1,326 an ounce developing outstanding chart structure as I am still recommending long positions in gold as I think higher prices are ahead so place your stop at the 10 day low of about 1,262 an ounce which is still quite a distance away but this chart looks very solid to me & that stop will be raised next week just like it will in silver. It’s amazing what a couple of months can do as in 2013 everybody was bearish gold including myself and now in 2014 the tide turned to the upside.
I’m recommending a long position because as a trader you must be able to flip-flop on your decisions because of the commodity markets can change very quickly so you must go with the trend and currently the trend is higher. Gold futures are trading above their 20 and 100 day moving average with a nice rounding bottom that occurred late December 2013 as the next major resistance is at 1,360 after that prices could retest 1,400 as it seems like investors are coming in on any weakness thinking that prices are still cheap even at these overbought levels.
Trend: Higher
Chart structure: Outstanding

Weekly Gold futures Recap
From our trading partner Mike Seery.....
Gold futures this week saw extremely volatile trade finishing out this Friday afternoon up $14 at 1, 387 an ounce and traded as low as 1,358 this morning before the U.S unemployment report came out showing we added 169,000 new jobs which was disappointing to traders thinking that the Federal Reserve will not taper pushing many commodities higher this afternoon. Tensions in Syria as well are starting to flare up as it looks like Pres. Obama is determine have some type of strike against Syria which also lent support to prices this afternoon as gold is kind of stuck in a range between 1,430 & 1,350 looking for some new fundamental news to dictate short term prices.
I’m still advising traders to be long the gold market with either some type of bull call spread limiting your risk to what the premium costs or if you’re a futures trader possibly be long the mini contract or big contract depending on account size as I do think worldwide problems are here to stay and there might be a real need to own gold once again. The chart structure in gold is very good; however this is a high risk trade as you’re having $30 to $50 swings on the daily basis so you must respect money when you’re trading this market because of the high risk at the present time.

Weekly Precious Metals Market Recap with Mike Seery
It's time to check in with our trading partner Mike Seery on where he sees precious metals heading for the end of the 1st week of trading in July.
The precious metals continue their downturn as higher interest rates are pressuring gold down $37 an ounce at 12.14 which is a new closing low and as I’ve been telling people through many previous blogs to keep selling the precious metals as there really is no reason to own gold since deflation is in the air not inflation.
Silver futures are down $.95 in the July contract at 18.75 looking to retest recent lows with the possibility of prices going down to the $15 level here in the next couple of weeks as the tide has turned in the commodity market.
I have been recommending a short copper position for quite some time as copper was absolutely pummeled today down 1100 points at 3.06 a pound placing a stop above the 10 day high which is 3.17 and I do believe copper prices are headed steadily lower possibly down to 2.50 in the next 4 to 6 weeks as demand has weakened tremendously in China and higher interest rates will put the kibosh on copper prices in my opinion.
All of the precious metals are trading far below their 20 and 100 day moving average and I believe that will continue for quite some time as the U.S dollar is the place to park money due to the fact that interest rates are much higher here than overseas which will continue to put pressure on the precious metals in my opinion.
Precious metals trend....lower, Chart structure.....excellent.

Weekly Precious Metals Recap with Mike Seery GLD SLV
The precious metals fell out of bed this week especially gold which finished down for the 6th consecutive day trading far below its 100 day moving average all due to the fact that the U.S dollar hit another contract high today trading up nearly 70 points again today as investors are fleeing out of gold and taking that money and placing it in the U.S dollar and the S&P 500 which is hitting another record high again today.
Gold futures for the June contract settled last Friday at 1,436 finishing down about $70 for the week trading at 1,362 hitting a 2 year low with a possible retest of 1,321 which was hit on April 16th of this year. Investors see no reason to own gold at this point in time when you can buy the stock market which seems to go up every single day, however the real story is large hedge funds including George Soros which have been liquidating their gold positions in recent weeks and that is also putting pressure as investors are taking money out of the ETF gold market.

Silver futures for the July contract were down another $.38 at 22.36 an ounce trading below its 20 day moving average and is trading $6 below its 100 day moving average which tells you this trend is very strong to the downside and if gold continues to go down its going to be difficult for silver to rally. Silver looks bearish here in short term after settling last Friday at 23.65 finishing down about $1.00 for the week also hitting 2 ½ year lows. The next major support in silver which was also hit on April 16th of this year is at $21 and if that level is broken you could possibly see silver heading down to the 18/$19 level especially if gold continues to fall out of bed.
Copper futures were a different story finishing up 300 points today in the July contract after settling last week at 3.35 a pound down slightly for the week, however its following the S&P and the housing market more than silver and gold at this point as investors see no reason to own gold because it actually has no real commercial usage but copper is used in housing and many other products with improving economies around the world copper demand should increase but at this point in time I would avoid copper because it does not have a trend while silver and gold have a trend to the downside so if you’re looking to get short this market I recommend selling silver and gold in place a stop above the 10 day high therefore minimizing your risk in case the trend does change.
Trend: Lower – Chart structure solid in gold and silver
